Silicon Valley Bank Crisis: Impact on Indian Start-ups and Businesses and How to Recover
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a substantial impact on the global economy, and the tech start-up scene in India is no exception. With a plethora of start-ups and businesses struggling to obtain capital, the Silicon Valley Bank crisis has plunged them further into difficulty. Silicon Valley Bank, a leading financial institution for start-ups and venture capitalists, has temporarily ceased its operations in India, disrupting the start-up and venture capital ecosystem in the country. The closure of SVB in India has posed a significant challenge for start-ups. SVB played a crucial role in bridging the gap between investors in Silicon Valley and Indian start-ups, enabling start-ups to obtain capital, expertise, resources, and opportunities that could boost their growth. The bank also facilitated funding for venture capitalists who were eager to invest in Indian start-ups. However, the recent events have forced start-ups to seek other sources of financing as they try to keep afloat amidst the economic turmoil. Traditional banks are typically more risk-averse and may take longer to approve loans than SVB would have done. This has considerably slowed down the rate of growth of many start-ups, especially those in the early stages. The crisis has also made it more difficult for foreign investors to set up shop in India. SVB's association with Silicon Valley had made it simple for venture capitalists to invest in Indian start-ups. SVB's closure implies that investors will need to find other ways to invest in Indian start-ups, which may be challenging for some. However, there are many ways that start-ups and businesses in India can recover from this crisis and continue to grow.
Look for alternative funding sources: Start-ups should explore other funding options such as venture capital firms, angel investors, crowdfunding platforms, and family offices as an excellent way to raise capital. Alternative sources of funding are essential, especially during a crisis like this, to sustain start-up growth and encourage innovation. Collaboration with the Government: The Indian government has started several schemes to promote ventures, including start-up India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, to support start-ups and help them withstand difficult times such as this. Entrepreneurs should explore these programs and seek the support of government organizations. Reduce Expenses: Start-ups can reduce their expenses by downsizing their office spaces, trimming down their employee benefits, or minimizing other expenses that are not essential to their operations, all while looking for alternative sources of funding. Collaborate with Other Start-ups: Indian start-ups can collaborate with other businesses to share resources and reduce expenses. Partnerships and collaborations can help start-ups tap into new markets and create new opportunities for growth. Aim for Innovation: The Indian start-up scene is renowned for its entrepreneurial spirit and ability to think outside the box. Start-ups must focus on innovation and developing new ways to deliver value to their customers. Pivoting to a new business model or launching a new product line may be the ideal way to maintain business growth. In conclusion, the Silicon Valley Bank crisis has been a significant blow to the Indian start-up ecosystem. Its closure has disrupted the growth momentum of start-ups in the country. Start-ups and businesses should strive to recover from this crisis by exploring alternative sources of funding, collaborating with the government and other start-ups, trimming down expenses, and focusing on innovation. Policymakers must work together to ensure the Indian start-ups ecosystem continues to grow and attract investment. The government may consider launching new initiatives or easing regulations that can spur innovation, attract foreign investment, and create a favourable business environment. The key is for Indian start-ups to persevere and focuses on innovation and growth, even during adversity.

Latest Collection on the Runway – A Bold and Exciting Move
Launching a new fashion collection on the runway is a strategic move that can help fashion brands gain exposure, create buzz, and generate excitement among potential customers. This traditional approach to showcasing fashion has been around for decades and is still relevant in today's digital age. It was the first time that Heights curated retail fashion IP on the runway in 2016. Those were the days when collections weren't launched seasonally. In collaboration with major malls, we brought brands to the runway.
There are several reasons why launching a collection on the runway is a good idea for fashion brands. Firstly, it provides an opportunity to showcase the latest fashion trends and designs in a visually compelling way. Runway shows allow designers & brands to showcase their creativity and vision, highlighting the unique elements of their collection that set them apart from competitors.
Secondly, runway shows provide an opportunity to connect with industry experts, media outlets, and fashion enthusiasts. This exposure can lead to increased brand recognition and potentially open new doors for collaborations and partnerships.
Thirdly, runway shows generate excitement and anticipation among potential customers. When a collection is debuted on the runway, it creates a sense of exclusivity and prestige, making consumers more likely to purchase the collection when it becomes available.
Furthermore, runway shows can also provide valuable feedback to designers. Feedback from industry experts, buyers, and customers can help designers & brands refine their collection and make it more marketable.
In addition, social media has amplified the impact of runway shows. Fashion enthusiasts and influencers now have a platform to share their thoughts and opinions about the collections, creating even more buzz and exposure for the brand. This exposure can lead to increased brand awareness and, ultimately, increased sales.
To conclude, launching a new fashion collection on the runway is a strategic move that can provide fashion brands with numerous benefits. It allows designers & brands to showcase their latest designs and creativity, connect with industry experts, generate buzz and excitement among potential customers, receive valuable feedback, and increase brand recognition. With the right strategy and execution, launching a new collection on the runway can be a highly effective way to promote a brand and its latest offerings.

Remembering The Martyrs of 26/11 : Mumbai Terror Attack
Even after 14 years of the 26/11 attack on my country, it is still alive in our hearts. It still seems like yesterday when we think about that darkest night in the history of India. For three consecutive days, the city of Mumbai was engulfed in terror. Even though we saw the attack on news channels, we felt it very personally.
Our eyes were filled with the sight of innocent lives being sacrificed in front of us. Many security personnel, civilians and foreigners lost their lives and it felt like a very personal loss. The pace of time is definitely speeding up, but we will not forget and forgive.
The 26/11 attack continues to be an emotional & painful moment for a lot of us even after years. While India has been the victim of terrorism before, this attack revealed the country's vulnerability and raised many questions about security. We pray that such incidents will never occur again. It was our NSG commandos' intelligence and our security personnel's willingness to risk their lives and saved many from death. The NSG commando and Mumbai Poilce made supreme sacrifices in the line of duty. We on the behalf of whole nation salute their bravery.
In response to the November attacks, the Indian government established important new institutions and legal mechanisms to combat terrorism. As our army guards us vigilantly, we feel more secure today, whether you're at a mall or in the metro. Regardless of whether it be food, music, or culture, we are an event organization that celebrates everything about life. In addition, we are one such event organization that acts as the conduit between a common man and a person who sacrifices everything on the border to ensure the security of the nation.
For the martyrs and their families, since 2017, we have organized commemorative events such as "26/11 Memorial Day: We Won't Forget, We Won't Forgive" & "Run For Security: A Run Honoring The Martyrs and INDIAN Army”. We got overwhelming support from the fraternity. The first edition of RFS witnessed the participation of over 15,000 people.
It is heartwarming to meet the families, Ms Vaishali Omble (daughter of Shaheed Tukaram Omble) Mrs Tarabai Omble (Wife of Shaheed Tukaram Omble), Mr. K. Unnikrishnan & Mrs Dhanalakshmi Unnikrishnan (parents of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan) of these heroes who are proud of how their father and son served our country.
Remembering our Brave hearts
Remembering the martyrs of 26/11, we honour the innocent victims and the brave hearts who gave their lives in the #mumbaiterrorattack 14 years ago on #26/11.
During #OpBlackTornado, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan was in charge of the team tasked with flushing out terrorists. Prior to making the supreme sacrifice, he fought valiantly to the end. He saved the lives of his men & Shaheed Tukaram Omble ji is one of the greatest sons of our soil. No words or awards can describe the courage, presence of mind, and selflessness demonstrated by him on that day.
We weren't afraid then, and we won't be afraid now.

Role of Event Management Companies in Changing the Face of Society
Society is quite vigilant and aware of the prevailing scenarios today. However, there’s always a scope for learning a bit more and contributing to its improvement by small acts of generosity. Social awareness is one such important aspect that can bring a positive change in society by helping one another. This can be of great value for uplifting others as well as learning from one’s experiences.
Event Organisers are playing a key role in this aspect through several awareness campaigns and agenda-centric events that grab the attention of a massive crowd towards a concern through impactful events.
There are a number of acts that are capable of enlightening a huge crowd when presented in a well- organised manner. This organisation needs rich experience and resources to be executed well. Event management companies have emerged as a boon in this concern. Hosting multiple facilities along with numerous vendors and a surety of delivering quality services through one vendor or the other is the most important aspect of hiring them for events. Over the years, such companies have grown in the country as they have, one way or the other, simplified people’s work by conducting their events smoothly and efficiently, and also have been appreciated for the quality of work. However, the scenario is changing day by day. Today, event management companies not only execute the pre-planned conclaves but also ideate events that are capable of upgrading society and organise them in association with brands that serve the purpose efficiently. Owing to the efficient organisation of events, event management companies are reached out by renowned brands to collaborate and organise events that receive a footfall of people who wish to be a part of the cause.
Events organised to commemorate soldiers or families of martyrs can be one of the few ideas that have originated and been executed by such companies. The soul of such events is to pay gratitude and tribute to the brave men of the country who are always ready to stake their lives to protect their fellow citizens. Another similar idea is to organise awareness campaigns for the welfare and development of the specially-abled group of society. People need to be more empathetic towards such people and see them as equally capable and efficient amenities of the community.
Health camps are also a great cause to help the needy. Various facilities that are not available in remote areas can be presented for a few days through such camps, bringing huge benefits to the residents and elevating their healthy life. This is both practically and emotionally beneficial for them. Fundraising also comes along as a part of such events to help the downtrodden section of society and generate funds to help them cater to needs, including medical, educational requirements, shelters, etc.
Women's Empowerment is another significant cause that has gained massive popularity through events. It has brought around the achievements of women and the positions that they’ve achieved in society through their hard work and dedication, breaking the stereotypes of society. Talent shows are equally efficient events that bring out hidden talents from remote areas of the country. Such programs have given talented models, singers, dancers, theatre artists and even leaders to the country through good planning and execution.
All these aspects have revealed that event management companies have emerged as key players in society, ideating concepts that upgrade society and enhance the participants’ exposure to the world. They are capable enough of planning and executing events successfully and driving the attention of the community on such concerns that need to be treated as a priority.
